A deeply personalised, long-form massage experience shaped around you. Decades of hands-on experience, intuitive bodywork and carefully integrated techniques create unhurried space for physical release, deep rest and whole-person restoration.

Kahe Hands' Immersive Experiences range from two to four hours and become progressively more expansive according to what you want from that time.

Why Two Hours Can Feel Completely Different From Sixty Minutes

A one-hour massage can accomplish a great deal.

But it has boundaries.

If your shoulders need considerable attention, something else inevitably receives less. If your hips and legs need focused work, there is less time available for your back. And if it takes you 20 or 30 minutes simply to stop thinking about work, traffic, family or tomorrow's schedule, a significant part of the massage can pass before you feel that you have properly arrived.

An Immersive Experience changes that equation.

There is time to work slowly.

There is time to revisit an area rather than trying to finish it in one pass.

There is time to change pressure, position or technique as your body responds.

And there can be enough time for massage to stop feeling like a sequence of body parts and become one connected experience.

That is the idea behind the Immersive range.

When You Want the Massage to Keep Flowing

One of the most distinctive qualities of Lomi Lomi is continuity.

Rather than repeatedly working an isolated area, stopping and repositioning before beginning somewhere else, long flowing movements can travel across broader regions of the body. Lomi Lomi has also been described in the literature as combining massage with gentle passive movement, with relaxation proposed as an important part of that interaction.

Over two hours, that continuity becomes particularly important.

Your therapist has enough time to create a sustained rhythm while still giving appropriate attention to areas that need more focused work.

Pressure isn't fixed.

Some movements can be broad and flowing. Others can become slower and more focused. Gentle movement and breath can be incorporated naturally rather than feeling like separate additions to the massage.

The Experience

This is an intuitive, prayerful Lomi Lomi experience built around intention, breath, gentle movement and continuous flowing bodywork.

An unusual characteristic is what we call reverse pressure.

Instead of all pressure being applied downward from above, the therapist can work beneath parts of your body and use the weight and position of your body to create pressure against the therapist's hands or forearms. This creates a very different sensation from conventional downward massage.

The result is an experience that can feel enveloping rather than segmented.

Professional draping is maintained throughout, while the bodywork remains continuous, respectful and unhurried.

Choose This When…

You feel physically tense, mentally overloaded or deeply tired, but don't necessarily want two hours of concentrated problem-solving.

You want to relax.

You want flowing whole-body massage.

And you want enough time to experience Lomi Lomi as something more substantial than a technique squeezed into an ordinary massage.

Choose the 120 min Immersive Lomi Lomi Massage when the flow itself is what you are looking for.

When Relaxation Isn't Your Only Objective

There are days when lying still for two hours isn't actually what your body needs.

Your hips feel restricted. Your back and legs aren't moving together comfortably. Your shoulders need attention. Perhaps you have been training hard, sitting excessively, travelling, working long hours or simply noticing that your body doesn't move as freely as it once did.

This Immersive Experience takes a more functional and movement-oriented direction.

Two hours gives us room to explore the body rather than simply working down a list of tight muscles.

Massage Can Change as You Move

The session is deeply personalised around how you present on the day.

It may incorporate specialised massage techniques, Reflexology, breathwork, mindful movement, joint mobilisation, assisted movement and flowing hands-on bodywork.

We can massage an area, introduce movement and then reassess how that movement feels.

A shoulder may need focused soft-tissue work followed by gentle movement. Restricted hips may lead us into the glutes, legs and lower back rather than repeatedly attacking the point that feels tight. Another client may need substantial hands-on work before movement becomes useful.

Massage research across painful adult conditions supports beneficial associations between massage and pain in a number of contexts, although outcomes and evidence strength differ substantially between conditions. A major 2024 evidence review identified seven moderate-certainty conclusions across the literature, all showing beneficial associations between massage and pain.

At Kahe Hands, however, the session isn't determined by a research protocol.

Your body determines the direction.

Choose This When…

Choose the 120 min Deep Restoration & Body Flow Massage when you want more than relaxation and your main objective is physical restoration, easier-feeling movement and substantial personalised bodywork.

This is the most functionally focused of the Immersive Experiences.

180 min Somatic Bodywork & Guided Meditation

What Happens When You Don't Begin With the Massage?

The three-hour experience deliberately begins somewhere else.

With you.

The first hour creates space for intention-setting, breathwork and guided meditation. Instead of immediately asking which muscle needs attention, you have time to consider what has brought you to the session and what you want to explore during it.

That might be exhaustion.

A difficult period in your life.

Something from the past that you have been reflecting on.

A sense that you have been functioning continuously without giving yourself meaningful time to stop.

Or simply the desire to become quieter and more attentive to what you are experiencing.

Then the Bodywork Begins

Approximately two hours of deeply personalised bodywork follows.

The transition isn't intended to feel like meditation finished, massage started. Breath awareness, quiet reflection and meditation can continue naturally through the bodywork.

The massage itself remains responsive.

Pressure, pace and technique change according to how your body responds, with flowing work creating continuity through the experience.

The purpose is not for the therapist to analyse your emotions or tell you what your body supposedly “means.”

The reflection belongs to you.

The therapist provides time, skilled touch, guided attention and an environment in which you can explore it.

Choose This When…

Choose 180 min Somatic Bodywork & Guided Meditation when you want meaningful time for body, mind and self-reflection, rather than booking massage purely because something hurts.

It is particularly suited to someone comfortable with meditation and willing to spend part of the session looking inward before receiving the extended bodywork.

240 min Contemplative Bodywork Retreat

Four Hours Changes the Nature of the Appointment

This is the most extensive Immersive Experience at Kahe Hands.

It isn't intended to be everyone's massage.

And that is precisely why it exists.

The 240 min Contemplative Bodywork Retreat is designed for someone already comfortable with prayer, meditation, inward reflection and spending a substantial period without the usual interruptions of everyday life.

Instead of extending one massage technique for four hours, the experience moves through distinct phases.

First: Move

Approximately the first hour uses Thai-style assisted movement to prepare the body.

Rather than beginning passively on the massage bed, you and the practitioner work with supported movement, positioning, stretching and breath.

The intention is to give the body time to move before asking it to become still.

Then: Become Still

The second hour moves into Reflexology.

After the broader movement of the opening phase, attention becomes much more contained. The pace changes. The body has an opportunity to settle.

This creates a natural transition from physical movement towards stillness.

Finally: Flow

The final two hours move into extended Lomi-inspired bodywork.

Long, connected massage becomes the physical foundation while breath, periods of silence, meditation and personal prayer create space for deeper contemplation.

For clients for whom Christian prayer is meaningful, the contemplative dimension can become an intentional part of the experience.

It isn't imposed.

It is entered into deliberately.

Choose This When…

Choose the 240 min Contemplative Bodywork Retreat when you already have an established contemplative or prayer practice and want uninterrupted time for physical release, reflection and deeper spiritual presence.

This is less like fitting a massage into your day.

It is choosing to give part of the day to the experience.

Your decision is how deeply you want to enter the experience.

Before Booking an Immersive Experience

Because these sessions are substantially longer than conventional massage, tell us about injuries, recent surgery, significant pain, pregnancy, medical conditions or anything affecting your comfort with prolonged massage, positioning or movement.

For the 180- and 240-minute experiences, it is also useful to tell us about your previous experience with meditation, breathwork or contemplative practice so the session can be shaped appropriately.

Prayer and spiritual reflection are never imposed on a client. Where they form part of the experience, they are approached respectfully and according to the experience you have chosen.

The Kahe Hands Philosophy

Healing is not ours to offer, it is God the Father, the Father of Abraham and Isaac. All people of all races and faiths can receive care, the expression of Gods love, grace and care for us all. We get the opportunity to join you in prayer to Him and ask for your healing. We massage, you clean out what does not belong inside of you and He heals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can massage help emotional stress?

Massage cannot remove the cause of emotional stress, but it may help reduce some of the physical tension that stress creates. Many clients experience massage as supportive, calming and grounding.

What is somatic bodywork?

Somatic bodywork focuses on body awareness. It helps the client notice breathing, posture, tension, movement and internal body signals in a calm and practical way.

What makes Hawaiian Lomi Lomi different?

Hawaiian Lomi Lomi uses flowing rhythm, broad contact, presence and whole-body connection. At Kahe Hands, Lomi-inspired principles are integrated into professional massage without exaggerating or romanticising the tradition.

Can massage calm the nervous system?

Massage may support nervous system regulation by creating a safe, quiet and predictable environment. Gentle pressure, slow rhythm, breathing and respectful communication may all contribute to relaxation.

Is this suitable if I have anxiety?

It may be suitable, provided the session is adapted carefully. If anxiety is severe or linked to a medical or psychological condition, massage should support—not replace—appropriate professional care.

Can breathing improve massage outcomes?

Breathing may help the body soften, reduce unnecessary guarding and improve awareness during massage. Simple breathing cues can make the session feel more integrated.

What should I expect during my first treatment?

Expect a professional consultation, clear communication, respectful boundaries, comfortable positioning, adaptable pressure and a session that works at your pace.
